Beaver Creek Ranch Refuge

This 102 +/- acre recreation ranch is a quiet refuge away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Just 15 miles from the small rural community of Shell, yet in an area with several high quality homes, this property offers more features, privacy and impressive vistas than several area ranchettes with million dollar homes! Well-suited as a refuge from the world, or a small ranch for 10 – 20 head of stock, you are only limited by your imagination.

Beaver Creek flows across the property year-round and there are seasonal flows (springs) at several locations throughout the property, in addition to numerous natural potholes that draw game birds and wildlife. Leavitt Reservoir is just up the road, and there is a game bird farm right next door. The presence of deer, elk, bobcat, wild turkey, pheasants and many other game birds and waterfowl were discovered during a short visit – imagine what you’ll enjoy in your explorations or over your morning coffee each day!

A very rustic homestead cabin is on the property, but you can select your own “perfect” building site with views of the Bighorn mountains looming above and the surrounding badlands. Electric, phone and internet service are at the property line. Permits to construct a new home are simply a County Compliance Permit, Septic Permit and Address Application!

A short tour of the property revealed both archeological and paleontological sites revealing evidence of dinosaurs, Native Americans and early settlers. The Shell area is rich with diverse sites, from dinosaur tracks and digs by various Universities. The onsite multicolored Cloverly formation, named for the long gone nearby Cloverly settlement, is the source of many of the fossils discovered throughout the region. If Native American culture or early-man sites are your interest, the region offers a wealth of sites for the explorer, photographer and avid enthusiast.
